The newly designed Rheinauhafen docks are a particularly special highlight in Cologne. The historical dockland quarter of Cologne now boasts a new shopping strip with numerous galleries and cafés. The heart of the quarter is home to the spectacular Kranhäuser ("crane houses"), buildings designed by famous Hamburg-based architects Bothe, Richter and Teherani.
